Spanish-American War Memorial: The Hiker
Erected in 1925, this statue honors Army and Navy soldiers in the Spanish-American War, as well as those who served in Cuba, Puerto Rico, the China Relief Expedition, and the Philippines.

Hollow Trees
You may notice the trees on either side of the statue – one dedicated to the wives of the fallen, another to the mothers. The tree on the left is nearly hollow, you might want to take a look up through the trunk!
